Take Action
The fight to end HIV infection worldwide needs your help. Not sure why you should join the fight? Check out just a few reasons WHY YOU SHOULD CARE.
When you're ready to take action to fight AIDS and end HIV infection, here are just a few things you can do to make a difference:
Watch The Film, Save A Life
THE ROAD WE KNOW invites you to be a part of a new movement called "filmanthropy," using movies to raise awareness, action and funds for important causes. Check out our innovative "Watch the film, save a life" campaign.
Talk to Congress
PEPFAR (the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) is the largest initiative by any nation to combat a single disease around the world. PEPFAR was created in 2003, was reauthorized in 2008, and will be up for reauthorization again in 2013. It's important that funding be continued for HIV prevention through behavior change (abstinence, fidelity, delay of sexual debut, partner reduction and more). Contact your local representative or write to Representatives Trent Franks, Jim McDermott, or Barbara Lee, co-chairs of the Congressional bipartisan caucus on HIV/AIDS with your thoughts.
Join the "CrowdOutAIDS" Campaign
CrowdOutAIDS is a collaborative online project to develop a new way for UNAIDS to work with young people. It uses online tools to invite young adults to crowdsource a UNAIDS youth strategy on HIV and create solutions to the AIDS crisis. Visit CrowdOutAIDS to find out more information and to become an advisor.
Stay tuned to this page for more information on the many amazing organizations that are working to prevent HIV and how you can help them in their fight to end the AIDS crisis.
